What are essential oils?
Essential oils are volatile substances that are produced naturally by plants in tiny amounts. Plants produce these oils to protect themselves in various ways: to repel certain insects and attract others, promote cell regeneration, prevent dehydration, or for antibacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal effects. Human cultures have been learning about and actively using essential oils for at least 4,000 years, with records dating back to ancient Greece, Egypt and China. We extract these substances from plants through a variety of processes and apply them for many purposes. There are over 80 different essential oils in existence and used in various ways by therapists all over the world - each one possessing its own special range of beneficial properties. Even with the amazing medical advances made by conventional Western medicine, essential oils are still just as relevant today due to their natural origins compared with pharmaceutical and other synthetic chemical-laden preparations. What are they used for? Essential oils are the source for most natural fragrances, but they don't just smell nice — they are nature's best and strongest anti-inflammatory and anti-septic products. Used in the right preparation with other oils and other quality organic ingredients, these oils can greatly enhance the appearance and health of your skin, assist in reducing irritations or inflammations, and directly improve your well-being and vitality. These products help restore balance and harmony in any areas where they are lacking. The applications all throughout history have been truly broad and effective throughout history. How do appointments work? Appointments consist of half-hour consultations in person, or via phone or Skype. During this consultation, you can share your health concerns and we will go over your treatment options. Any needed product will be prepared for you at no additional cost. Gift certificates now available! I'm already healthy. Why do I need an essential oil consultation? Essential oils have such a wide range of uses, they’re a valuable addition and supplement to anyone’s lifestyle, no matter how healthy they are. But they can also be difficult to use properly. For instance, if you’ve bought essential oils online or without proper guidance, e.g. - buying tea tree oil for foot fungus, but found it had no effect or that it burned your skin, then you know exactly what I mean. But the problem isn’t with you or with tea tree oil in general — it’s with the misleading and downright false labels that are on many commercially available essential oils. A product can say "100% Natural" or "Made with pure essential oils" but literally just be 1 drop of essential oil with 99% GMO soybean oil, or worse! A product like this will NOT work well and may even cause harm, and with the state of labeling laws in Australia, the United States, and other countries where JP Holistic Therapy clients live, this situation will not improve anytime soon. I went through the painstaking process of trial and error with essential oils in my own life before becoming a certified aromatherapist, so I know just how frustrating it is when you expect a product to work for you but it doesn't because of commercial deceit! For this reason, I use ONLY tested, quality essential oils, in the highest therapeutic concentrations that are still safe and that are tailored to your specific situation. |

Do I need to set up a consultation to order your products?
It is not necessary to have a consultation to order my products. You can go directly to the Store page and place your order. If you would like a custom-made blend, product or other essential oil-based solution, you will need to make an appointment.
What solutions do you make?
Please see a list of my products made with pure, high quality ingredients and essential oils on my Store page. They have established track records for success and are made without any of the harmful synthetic additives, preservatives, and plasticizers that are almost ubiquitous in commercial products. My products have great functionality that comes from the synergistic therapeutic effects of the essential oil combinations used. They also smell great and will make you look and feel fantastic. They can be used in a variety of ways depending on your specific concern, including skin application, gentle inhalation from an applicator, in a diffuser, etc. (Read my article, “Ways to Use Essential Oils.”)
How do I pay for products and when will I receive them?
On the Store page, products can be paid for using Stripe, accepting Visa, Mastercard and American Express. If you setup a consultation, payment can be made by cash or bank transfer. Once payment has been made, in most cases your product will be ready for pickup within 24 hours, or sooner if required. You will be notified via email or phone. If you prefer to have your product mailed somewhere, please specify this and any gift-wrapping preferences when you order.
What is your qualification?
I earned a Certificate in Aromatherapy from Nature Care College in Sydney, Australia. I continue furthering my education to remain abreast of any new aromatherapy techniques, soap-making, and to continue my own research. In addition to my Certificate in Aromatherapy, my practice is insured by Arthur J. Gallagher and I am a certified and full professional member of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.
Do therapeutic essential oils work well with other therapies?
Yes, aromatherapy is a well-known complementary therapy. It works with and supports conventional/orthodox medical practices. For example, many hospitals use essential oils in Intensive Care Units and other areas to assist and enhance relaxation and healing.
When used holistically, essential oils can play an active role in energetic healing, the system of healing that applies not just to the physical body, but to the mental, emotional, and even spiritual “bodies” as well. There are a number of complementary health disciplines that work in these areas, including naturopathy and herbal medicine, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Reiki Energy Healing.
